2005 Keynote Speaker

W. James Popham, PhD

Dr. W. James Popham is an Emeritus Professor at the Graduate School of Education at UCLA, where he has taught for nearly 30 years. During his career Dr. Popham has become known as one of the America’s foremost authorities on educational testing. Dr. Popham is a former president of the American Educational Research Association and founding editor of the journal Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis. In 2002, he received the National Council on Measurement in Education’s Career Contributions to Educational Measurement Award. Dr. Popham has authored over 25 books and 200 journal articles in the fields of education and evaluation, including his most recent work on the No Child Left Behind Act, America’s “Failing” Schools: How Parents and Teachers Can Cope with No Child Left Behind.
